Gassonic MM0100Gassonic MM0100

Ultrasonic gas leak detector for instant detection of pressurised gas leaks.

  • EExi intrinsically safe
  • Normal Namur alarm relay and delay settings
  • Installation track record of 2000 detectors
  • ATEX, C-UL US certified

The Gassonic MM0100 is an intrinsically safe ultrasonic gas leak detector. It is based on robust stainless steel microphone that doesn't become saturated by poisonous or highly concentrated gasses. The Gassonic MM0100 has an MTBF (Mean time Between Failure) of 25.6 years in offshore conditions (Naval Sheltered). It requires no calibration and virtually no maintenance. The Gassonic MM0100 has more than 10 years field installation track record.

Unlike conventional technologies the ultrasonic gas leak detectors are not affected by changing weather conditions and fast dilution of the gas cloud. Nor do they need an explosive gas cloud to build up. Instead, the ultrasonic gas leak detectors detect gas leaks instantly in a radius of up to 20 metres from the detector by reacting to the distinct ultrasonic noise that pressurised gas leaks generate.

Junction BoxJunction Box

The junction box 1702 is used for connecting the Gassonic MM0100 to the plant cabeling. The 1702 is connected to the 4-wire cable which has been attached to the Gassonic MM0100 from factory. Since the Gassonic MM0100 is an intrinsically safe unit, the wiring between the detector and the safe area must be done through approved EX-barriers.

In the PDF file below, it is illustrated how the Gassonic MM0100 should be connected to the junction box and further into the non-hazardous area through EX barriers.
